May 2008 Featured Artist Jeff Tillotson Pinhole Photograhs of Paris. "These are photographs made over 3 lucky trips to Paris. They were taken using cardboard and wooden box cameras I made myself or was given by other pinhole photographers. They take some effort. The exposures range up to an hour and a half. Two pictures in a day is about the best that can be done. I try to schedule the shots so I'm in the right place at the moment the sunlight works best. I get to drink a lot of coffee." "Paris offers up an endless supply of both good coffee and photographic subjects. The joke is a photographer can drop a camera and take a good picture in Paris. Altough with this type of camera, you have to drop it just right. What hangs here are some of my favorite subjects. The pinhole camera gives a magical effect to these traditional Parisian icons. I am also using infrared black and white film. The viewer may notice hot, whitened foliage and hard, black, cold shadows in many of the pictures. That's the effect of the infrared film." - Jeff Tillotson
